This six-ingredient Avocado Lime Dressing is creamy, bright, and easy to make. It works beautifully on leafy salads, roasted vegetables, grain bowls, or as a dip. Ready in minutes with simple ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen.

Why I Love This Salad Dressing Recipe
Oi gente!
If I’m making a salad, the dressing has to be excellent. This avocado lime dressing fits the bill: it’s quick, flavorful, and ultra-creamy.
One of the best things about this recipe is how little hands-on time it needs. Just add the ingredients to a food processor or blender, pulse until smooth, and it’s done—no chopping or fussing required.
The ingredient list is short and flexible. If you keep avocados, garlic, olive oil, cilantro (or parsley), limes and water on hand, you can make this any night of the week.
It’s also versatile: use it to dress salads, drizzle it over bowls, or serve it as a dip for fresh veggies. I hope you love it as much as I do. Beijinhos!
Ingredients

- Avocado — ripe, soft and creamy.
- Garlic — fresh cloves for depth of flavor.
- Extra virgin olive oil — adds richness and helps emulsify the dressing.
- Fresh cilantro leaves — for a bright herbaceous note. If you dislike cilantro, swap with curly parsley (flat-leaf parsley is stronger and can change the flavor).
- Lime juice — freshly squeezed for acidity and brightness.
- Water — to thin the dressing to your preferred consistency.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
Equipment
- Food processor or blender
- Storage container or mason jar
How to Make Creamy Avocado Dressing

Add the ripe avocado, garlic, olive oil, cilantro, lime juice and water to a food processor or blender. Season with salt and pepper.
Blend until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning—add more salt, pepper or lime juice as needed. If you prefer a thinner, more pourable dressing, add water a tablespoon at a time until you reach the desired texture; you may need to rebalance salt and acidity after thinning.
Store in the refrigerator in a sealed container for up to one week. Stir or shake before serving if separation occurs.

How to Serve Lime Avocado Dressing
This dressing is very versatile. For the photos I tossed romaine with roasted corn, pickled red onions, cherry tomatoes and queso fresco then dressed it with the avocado lime dressing—bright, colorful, and delicious.
Other serving ideas:
- Dress leafy greens or mixed vegetable salads.
- Use as a dip for carrots, radishes, cucumber sticks or pita chips.
- Drizzle over slaws, grilled vegetables or fish tacos.
- Top grain bowls—quinoa, rice bowls or roasted vegetable bowls all benefit from this creamy, zesty dressing.
