Tinker Bell Smoothie Recipe: Sparkling Green Fairy Drink

This Tinkerbell-inspired smoothie won’t make you fly, but its nutritious ingredients and pretty layers bring a bit of magic to the day.

I’m not great at themed food — I don’t have Pinterest-level skills — but I love the idea. I recently read about a parent who creates themed dinners for family movie nights, which I found inspiring. Someday I’ll try it when my little one is ready for more films than just Cars.

After chatting with Tara from An Aiming High Wife about recipes to use up a surplus of pineapple, she suggested a smoothie. She had made a Rapunzel-inspired drink for her daughter, and that sparked my own Tinkerbell idea. I prefer green smoothies and had spinach on hand, so I adapted the concept into a layered pineapple-spinach smoothie.

The green and yellow layers reminded me of Tinkerbell, and Princess A loved it. The recipe contains no added sugar, packs plenty of fruit and vegetables, and any leftovers freeze beautifully into smoothie pops. It’s an easy, healthy treat and a fun way to introduce kids to green smoothies.

For a whimsical touch, I sprinkled star-shaped sprinkles as “pixie dust” just before serving — they dissolve quickly, so add them at the last moment. These smoothies would be adorable in mini glasses for a fairy- or Neverland-themed party. But even without the name or sprinkles, this pineapple-spinach layered smoothie is a sensible, tasty, and nutritious choice for breakfast or a snack.

Enjoy!
