Warm, just-out-of-the-oven white chocolate blondies topped with a scoop of ice cream and drizzled with a silky maple cream sauce—this is one unforgettable dessert!

Applebee’s might not be a five-star restaurant, but they do one thing really well: their blondies. I fell for them back in high school and have loved them ever since. The blondies are served warm, a scoop of ice cream slowly melting on top, and the whole thing is finished with a warm maple cream sauce. That sauce is the showstopper—rich, creamy, and addictive.

Making these blondies at home means you can control how much sauce you pour over every piece, and you won’t be fighting anyone for the last drizzle. The blondies themselves are soft and chewy, studded with white chocolate and optional nuts, and the maple cream sauce brings everything together with a luscious, slightly tangy finish from cream cheese.

This dessert is a crowd-pleaser: warm blondies, melting ice cream, and a decadent maple cream sauce. It’s a favorite for good reason and easy enough to make any night you want a special treat.

White Chocolate Blondies with Maple Cream Sauce {Applebee’s Copycat}

Warm white chocolate blondies topped with ice cream and a rich maple cream sauce—truly an amazing dessert.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Servings: 9 Servings

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup melted salted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon baking soda
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Maple Cream Sauce

  • ½ cup real maple syrup
  • ¼ cup salted butter
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • Chopped walnuts for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter and packed brown sugar. Mix until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla and stir until fully combined.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the white chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake 20–25 minutes, until the edges are golden and the top begins to brown. Remove and allow to cool slightly before cutting.

Maple Cream Sauce

  • While the blondies bake, make the sauce: combine the maple syrup and butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir until the butter melts.
  • Add the brown sugar and softened cream cheese. Continue to cook gently, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the cream cheese melts into a smooth sauce. Remove from heat.
  • Cut the warm blondies into squares. Top each with a scoop of ice cream, spoon the warm maple cream sauce over the top, and garnish with chopped walnuts if desired.
